I'M BACK…

I'M BACK…and ready to start blogging again.  Can you believe it after all this break, and I"m grateful for it, as it's been really hard trying to figure out how to start back up again, but today I found some inspiration to get me on the ball.

I'll keep it simple and say for now that it's been a long ride this past year and I'm very grateful to be pulling back the reins of the chaos in my life so I can move forward in focusing on my self-care again and sharing those adventures once more with you.

oh yes, and I've I've also been playing around with v-blogging and it's I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit intimidating and a whole new realm for me, but I promise once I figure out this whole editing dragon I"ll be posting a few videos each month.   A few that I've been working on while getting comfortable with the camera are updates on my new fitness challenge I've been doing.  You can check all the ladies who have joined into this 8-week challenge from the ladies at ToneItUp at their Instagram hashtag #tiubikiniseries.  It's really been inspiring seeing all the ladies posts.

I'm also working on re-branding my Instagram page, really just trying to get some consistency in my posts, fonts and colors, and I'm pretty happy with how they are turning out.  I'm also looking at re-branding the website, but that will take a little while longer to complete.

I've also been playing with some new filters from the VSCO app, and here's one of the results from it.  I love this shot.  It has all my favorite fitness colors, and is a great angle.

Let me know your thoughts and feelings on me adding the v-blogging soon and how you like the new re-branding process and if you're already apart of the #tiubikiniseries or if you've just joined in.

Labels and Title Changes

Decided it was time to update a few of my titles and tags since there are a few series I started, but never stuck with or others like Get it Done, Clear a Path & Organizing Me all seemed to mean the same thing to me after awhile and I felt to many posts were had several tags and the whole reason for tags is to separate posts so readers can find items of interest without scouring through everything else.  so I took some time Wednesday night and started deleting a few of the tags, however a few of them have more than 10 posts so it will take me some time to eliminate all the ones I feel are no longer useful for me or you, the reader.

After reading the  {Weekend Organizer} post by Fabulously Organized Home my head began to spin with new ways to categories my home projects and I really want to bring that into my tags, so you'll start to see these 10 minute / 60 minute / weekend organizer , which equal the length of the DIY or craft project.  I feel this will be more specific and easier to choose then Git It Done Wednesday, clear a path, before & after, and organizing me.

I also liked a blogger's wording when she was talking about the quotes that made her happy and she labeled those on her desktop page as happiness, so this will be all of the things that create a happy feeling in my heart.

All my dance exchange, and events for Lindy Hop will be under dance life.

All of my exercise, workout logs, running gear and anything fitness related will now be fit life and will take the place of sunny side up Sunday's, personal Health, and Life Adventures.

I love the words second hand love so that will hold all of my thrifty finds, and MCM Love.

Recipes will now carry the label yumminess, and paelo delight Sunday will simply be paleo.

Any projects that I found via pinterest will now be under pinned it instead of pinterest project

I also decided to add a few new labels to the mix.
  • house love - for some of my favorite images of my home
  • kitten life - to show the kittens as they are growing or any that host my corgi
  • lululemon - a favorite of mine for workout wear
  • to do list - home project lists, where I list a bunch of to do's that I would like to get done.

What are some of your favorite labels you have on your blog.
Also, let me know what you think of the new changes.

design change out & new name

I hope you like the new webdesign and name, I feel that this is totally me all the way around and I'm really excited about it.  In the past I've tried my best with my novice know how about html and css to create a design that I'm happy with, however, by the time I finish I'm tired of the design and want to change it up again, so this time I decided to scour the web to find a pre-made template that say's "hey you, this is your design" I also figured it would be more effective to have a pre-made since what you see is what you get and there isn't much in trying to determine how I want it to look.  Life is just way to busy and I have far more crap stuff to sort through, so when I found this design I was super excited.  The price was at a comfortable level and it had my name written all over it.

I've been mulling over my blog name for sometime, I'm very indecisive and get bored easily so I have a tendency to make new blogs up every few months and then change the name.  It wasn't until recently that with blogger you can change your blog name and web address and still keep the same blog you were working with.   This is a great feature for me, though I don't really want to keep changing the address since that's the main way people will find me.  I liked nourishing choices, but after a while it seemed boring and just not what I really wanted for my blog name, so I decided to review some of my favorite blogs and jot down words and phrases that stuck me.  I had about 5 pages of scribble and spent about a week working on a name that I would like and said exactly what I wanted.

It wasn't until the last day that it hit me...I love mid century design, art deco, danish, mod, retro (but not kitchys retro) and bauhous designs.  I had been looking up art deco, retro, vintage, and other food names, but it wasn't until I was reading about bauhous that I loved how hous was spelled.  It was unique, yet simple in it's meaning and for some reason my middle name pop out at me and that how RaeHous came about.  I love how the name reflects a part of my own name and one of my favorite styles, but it doesn't box me in to just being a health or DIY or food blog it allows me to broaden and write about what makes me smile, or some new recipe I tried and loved, or a new DIY project I'm thinking about working on.  It's RaeHous all things about me and my house.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new design and name.
